Getting married is one of the most wonderful and terrifying experiences we can have in our life. Finding that perfect partner to share all your future dreams and adventures with is magical, but it definitely comes with its own set of challenges. Some of which you never even expect.
Challenges in Marriage
When you decide to share your life with someone and get married, the romance of it all can distract you from the practical things you’ll need to figure out. Like, how will you manage your money? Are you going to have children? Where will you live? Planning for retirement. Whose family will you spend the holidays with? The list goes on!
What We Learned
What Mike and I figured out pretty quickly is that adjusting to marriage during the newlywed phase wasn’t as easy as we’d hoped. While there is definitely a honeymoon period, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. We had already tackled some of the big issues when we first started dating, like whether or not to have children, but there was so much to deal with. The road hasn’t always been easy, but with solid communication and a lot of patience we’ve made it through to the other side, and are working together to create the marriage and life we dream of.
